All the Kingdoms in Hetaland (yes, Hetaland.) are enemies, divided by their common shade. While the Kingdoms are set up next to each other as Black, White, Black, White, the secondary colors can be the same or similar. The White Kingdoms are allied together, as are the Black Kingdoms (not to sound racist here). While there can be a Red/orange and Black Kingdom, there can be a Red/Orange and White Kingdom. This is the same for many of the other secondary colors on the color spectrum (Blue + White and Blue + Black; and so on).
Each kingdom hates the kingdom of the opposite chess color, thus the black kingdoms hate the white kingdoms, and vice versa.
Battles are fought like chess, thus the same rules apply. There is a large chess board in the middle of the land.

I'd like to point out things, there are five kingdoms. period. If you make your own "Kingdom" for this group, it will take a while for the admins of this group to decide if it will be accepted. Make the kingdom logical. There's nothing worse than having Canada as a King, Seychelles as the Queen, Greece as the Rook-- you get what I mean. If there is at least one misplaced character that doesn't fit in the Kingdom, we will not accept it. If you want to make a Kingdom of all the African countries, dear lord go ahead. I will be making an application for creating Kingdoms.

Why not spreading it out a bit? more characters = more fun. Also maybe more people will apply (e.g. Taiwan who is in no kingdom). Sorry when it interrupts your plot.
